Cheryl Curran

Cheryl A. Curran is a contemporary oil painter who lives and works on the south shore of Massachusetts. Inspired by nature and always the adventure, she combines travel with her passion, plein air landscape painting. Plein air paintings are about first impressions, capturing the mood of the day, the light. Cheryl’s larger paintings are done in the studio, where quiet contemplation can bring inspiration to the design.
Cheryl’s academic training has been “en plein air”, direct painting from life and study of the masters. During the last ten years she has committed to self-study, art classes and workshops with a dedication to continually improve her painting processes. Since 1990 Cheryl has been part of workshops and continuous studies with established artists like Margaret McWethy, Sue Charles, Dianne P. Miller, Diane Rappisi, Kim Alemian, Charles Sovek, Scott Christensen, Kenn Backhaus, Kathleen Dunphy, Colin Page, Stapelton Kearns, Marc Hanson, Roger Dale Brown, Leo Mancini-Hresko, Kathleen Speranza.
