Watercolor artist Jack Haran is the past president of the New England Watercolor Society (NEWS) and past President of North River Arts Society (NRAS). He sits on the Board of Directors for NRAS. He earned a BS in Fine Arts from Northeastern University and a School of the Museum of Fine Arts Diploma. He has studied with Tony Van Hasselt and Judi Wagner, Zygmond Jankowski, John Kilroy, Alvaro Castagnet and Joseph Zbukvic. Jack has exhibited in a number of solo, group and juried shows over the last 25 years. These shows have included local, regional, national and international exhibits. His most prestigious awards are the Di Di Deglin Award at the 145th American Watercolor Society Show and the Robert Douglas Hunter award for The Guild of Boston Artists 2014 competition. His painting was also selected for the AWS 2012 – 2013 traveling show. Jcck has won numerous awards. He has coordinated watercolor workshops with international artists, i.e. Joseph Zbukvic, Alvaro Castagnet, John Salminen, Don Andrews, Thomas Schaller, and Frank Webb. He has given numerous watercolor demonstrations and taught watercolor classes at the North River Arts Society. Jack is also a skilled draughtsman and has received numerous awards for his works in charcoal. Jack is a signature member of NEWS, NRAS, Rhode Island Watercolor Society, a Gallery Artist with the Cape Cod Art Association, South Shore Art Center, Plymouth Guild of Artists and an associate Member of the American Watercolor Society. His work is part of collections at Georgetown University, Italy, and Cultural Museum in Colonia de Sacramento, Uruguay as well as private collections.
