"I came to discover the joy of painting only a few years ago. This discovery has permanently altered the way I view the world and interact with it. My paintings reflect my pursuit of the shifting color and light of the rivers, marshes, woods and ocean surrounding my home in southeastern Massachusetts and the New England country side. From the beginning I have been most intrigued by how the atmospheric perspective impacts color and light. I most enjoy paintings plein air. In spite of the abundance of inspiring vistas along the Massachusetts shoreline I continually challenge myself to embrace new perspectives and subjects. Painting has become a passion but also an exercise in life-long learning; one in which I am continually exploring different techniques for capturing the shifting light around me. Now that I view the world through a painter‘s perspective, I continue to be driven and inspired to capture the fleeting color and light on my canvas."
