A native of Massachusetts, Nancy Sargent Howell is an honorary and signature member of the New England Watercolor Society as well as a past President. She is also a past-President of the North River Arts Society, a gallery artist at the South Shore Art Center, the Plymouth Guild of Artists and a past vice-President of the Copley Society of Boston. She has lead numerous workshops around the USA and Europe and her work can be found in many private and corporate collections throughout the world. Nancy’s paintings range from traditional to abstract most often ending up with an obvious subject painted in a very contemporary manner. Many people comment on the fact that her watercolors are not typical of the quieter ones that they are used to seeing. She thinks very abstractly and, as she combines her approach to acrylics with her watercolors she tries to balance quiet shapes and energetic ones to develop an exciting composition. Nancy is a much sought teacher, demonstrator and juror. She holds weekly classes in Scituate MA.
