Robert G. Beaulieu, a Scituate MA resident, graduated from the Paier School of Art in Hamden , CT and continued his education at the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston . He has participated in a number of shows with the Scituate Art League and the South Shore Art Center as well as individual shows. In both 1998 and 1999 he won first place awards for oil at the prestigious Cohasset "Festival on the Green". In 2006, Robert won first place in Oil at the Quincy Arts Affaire. In 2005, Robert was appointed President of the Scituate Arts Association, overseeing and creating many artistic endeavors and events created by The Scituate Arts Association to include classes, Meet the Artist Series, High School scholarships, and the Historic preservation of the Ellis House. Many of Robert's oil paintings are of cityscapes and buildings throughout Boston , Hingham and Cohasset. Combining the style of photographic realism, and the loose painterly style of Edward Hooper, his work portrays a very realistic dimension, yet retains a very "painterly" approach. A number of his plein-air paintings of marshes of the South Shore reflect this same approach.
